Lavinia Wren's Apartment

[Annu Relli]

Annu Relli of Bespin walked purposely down the hall, a small repulsor lift full of champagne bottles floating beside her. She rang Lavinia's doorbell, perhaps a few too many times. But what could she say? She was excited! She finally had a party to go!! It had been ages...

[Lavinia Wren]

Lavinia was just applying her final touches of fingernail color when she heard the doorbell. She stood up hurriedly, treading on the hem of her skirt and almost falling. The doorbell was still ringing, and she called, "Coming!" as she rushed from her dressing room into the small sitting room of her apartment. She stopped in the doorway as her maid Loretta opened the door, inviting Annu into the apartment. "Ann!" Lavinia cried. "You're early." She glanced at her wrist chrono. "Or I'm late, rather." She picked up her small matching handbag from where she'd tossed it onto a couch earlier. "Ready to go?"

[Annu Relli]

"Oh, don't worry about it. My wrist chrono's set 15 minutes forward, and I'm still always late." She giggled, but stopped abruptly, finally noticing Lavinia's gown. "Oh, my dear, you always have had magnificent taste, but this..." she breathed in exaggerated wonder, "You really must introduce me to your seamstress!"

[Lavinia Wren]

Lavinia laughed, brushing imaginary wrinkles from her skirt. "What this old thing? You are too kind, really!" she said, equally exaggeratedly. "I shall have to give you her address."

[Annu Relli]

"Oh, to be sure!" Ann exclaimed. "It's lovely! I just love the color blue. It goes with everything and it always stands out in a crowd of red gowns!!" She giggled at her own slightly ridiculous comment.

[Lavinia Wren]

"How very true! Thank you, darling. And I really must compliment your own impeccable taste," Lavinia grinned. "After all, nothing stands out as much in a room of black dresses as a white one, especially one as lovely as yours!"

[Annu Relli]

Ann put a hand to the silver metal collar and adjusted it. "I love the collar, but it's a bit uncomfortable sometimes," she shrugged, "Ah well. I guess that's the price of beauty." She smiled widely.

[Lavinia Wren]

"Beauty is pain," Lavinia quoted. "Anyone who tries to tell you anything different is selling something." She returned the smile. "It is lovely, though. You will have to give me the address of your jeweler."

[Annu Relli]

"Actually, my seamstress' husband is a welder and he makes them for her! Isn't that sweet?" Ann glanced behind Lavinia. "Are you bringing anything with you? Or can we go? I don't want to be late!"

[Lavinia Wren]

"Really? That's amazing!" Lavinia glanced at her handbag and then paused. "Loretta!" she called. "Where are- Oh." Loretta entered with a neat package, handing it to Lavinia. "Thank you!" Lavinia cradled the package in one arm. "Now I'm ready. Can't have the champagne be late, can we?"

[Annu Relli]

Ann giggled. "Mallina's apartment is on floor 220, so we can take the lift tube at the end of the hall."

[Lavinia Wren]

Lavinia made an exaggerated half-bow toward the door. "After you, then!"

[Annu Relli]

Ann tipped her head to the side and gave a slight, mocking curtsy. She smirked and turned to step outside the door. "Onward we march!" she cried, incredibly hyper, as she began marching like a soldier down the hallway, her repulsor lift in tow.

[Lavinia Wren]

Lavinia, giggling at the ridiculous antics of her friend, followed, falling into step beside her. She glanced at her chrono. "1654 hours, commander. I think we'll make it on time."

[Annu Relli]

Annu tripped over her hem, making her give up her marching. She joined in the giggling and saluted. "Very good, lieutenant!"
