Full Name: Lavina Durada-Vashne Wren
Species: Human
Age: 36
Gender: female
Date of Birth: 12 Linaru (roughly equivalent to the standard fifth month), 58 BBY
Homeworld: Cularin
Home: When on Coruscant, she lives in a simple apartment in 500 Republica
Class: Upper
Title/Rank: Senator
Alignment: Good
Job(s): Senator of Cularin
Appearance: Lavina is average height for her homeworld, being about 1.6 meters tall. She has long black hair that reaches to her waist when left down, which is almost never. She usually wears it in some sort of intricate updo that compliments her brown, heart-shaped face and brown eyes. She has quite an impressive bearing when she chooses, and her slender figure makes her seem even taller. She bears a huge scar on her left leg, a souvenir from her two years in the Cularinese resistance movement against the Trade Federation.
Clothing: Lavina prefers to wear traditional Cularinese clothing, although she will make exceptions for certain casual occasions. In the Senate, she most often wears a floor-length, sleeveless tunic over a long sleeved undershirt, tight-fitting pants, and tall boots, with a mantle or coat over everything to keep her warm. She gets cold in the huge Senate chamber, used as she is to the tropical climate of her jungle home. In more casual circumstances she trades the floor-length tunic for a shorter one less heavily embroidered and beaded, and the undershirt to one with shorter sleeves. Most of her formal outfits are colored according to the moods of the Tarasinese color language, but her favorite colors are pink, turquoise, and purple.
Personality: First and foremost, Lavina is fiercely loyal to her home and family, and her sharp tongue has earned her quite a reputation on the Senate floor and off it. She welcomed the chance to become a senator as an opportunity to fight injustice and corruption and to better her planet. She is prickly and perhaps not the most tactful of people at times, but once she has made a friend, she will remain loyal no matter what cost. If, however, she is betrayed by a friend, she can and will hold a grudge.
Beliefs: Lavina has a strict sense of honor and refuses to be threatened or bribed. She acts for what she believes is the best for her home planet, not what will benefit her the most. She has no specific religion, but identifies with the moral systems of many.
Fears/Dislikes: She dislikes cold, and is terrified of snakes and crawling bugs. She hates traitors.
Likes: She is very close to her father and mother, and enjoys a fine Alderaanian Ruge from time to time.
Idiosyncrasies: She tends to snap her fingers when impatient or under stress.
Personal possessions: Aside from her extensive formal wardrobe, she lives simply and her apartment is not nearly as richly furnished and decorated as some of her peers’. The furnishings she does have are almost all gifts from Cularin, although she has a few pieces from Alderaan and Naboo. Her most treasured possession is a precious aurium ring, a birthday gift from her brother before his death.
Strengths: Lavina is very smart, both in book learning and “street smarts”. She is fluent in both Basic and Tarasinese, including the complex color language used by the reptilian Tarasin, and is learning Bocce. She is also physically fit and a good shot, both from a stint in the Cularinese military during the Trade Federation occupation.
Weaknesses: She has a quick temper and a sharp tongue, both of which have gotten her into trouble in the past.
Family:
Father: Lhun, overseer of the Tilnes crystal mines
Mother: Otolia
Brother: Corrin (died 38 BBY)
Lover: She considers herself too busy with work to become entangled in a relationship.
History: Lavinia was born on Cularin to Lhun and Otolia Wren during the Trade Federation occupation. Her brother Corrin, several years older than she, ran away joined the underground resistance movement against the Federation when she was 15 and as a result, her parents kept a very close watch on her, not wanting her to join him. She resented this, but accepted it and determined to wait until she was of age to join. Three weeks before her 21st birthday and freedom, her parents received a message that Corrin had been killed in a skirmish with Federation droids. When Lavinia heard the news, she ran to her room and began packing immediately. Taking her father’s blaster pistol from his desk drawer, she escaped to the town her brother’s last letter had come from. Luckily, she found a small garrison of rebels there and they took her in. She fought with the resistance for two years until she was seriously wounded, having her leg trapped under a chunk of metal. She was sent home to heal, her father being rich enough and high-ranking enough to protect her. Her leg survived, but she decided not to go back, much to the relief of her mother. She instead applied to a political science academy, resolving to fight with words instead of blasters, and worked her way up the occupied government hierarchy until the system was freed in 32 BBY, and she was elected senator.
