Lavinia grinned. "What? I like watching teams of droids destroy each other over a small inflatable amphibian as much as the next sentient being. There's no law that says se- ah, people like me can't enjoy nuna ball!" Abiran snorted. "Of course," she continued, "if the next sentient being is Abiran, whose idea of a fun night out is changing the oil in my speeder..." OOC: Well, I do try to please... I'll try to post the first chapter of that fanfic later, so as to keep you from complete braindeath.

Danny and Halna laughed at Abiran's offended glare. "Well, then, Fema, how was the nuna ball game last night?" Halna poked Danny in the ribs. She knew he wasn't trying to be a pain, but that question might be slightly difficult for Lavinia to answer. Unless she really had watched the game... Halna smirked, anxious to see how the senator would squirm her way out of this one. She hoped that Lavinia was a really good politician, else she might not make it...
OOC: Oh, you truly must call Iego home! :-)

"It wasn't the best I've ever seen. The RIC series is so much faster and more mobile than the B1s, they completely outmaneuvered them. I wouldn't say it was quite a runaway, but eighty-something to 57 isn't the smallest margin of victory either." Lavinia grinned smugly. "Won 20 creds off it, too."

Halna shook her head in amazement. "I can't believe you of all people are into nuna ball." She raised an eyebrow. "Anyways, moving on. Very quickly, preferably." Just then the waitress rolled up with Lavinia and Abiran's lunches. She excused herself to go to the bathroom, giving Danny a you-better-follow-me-or-else look. She hoped it was more of a thanks-for-getting-up-to-let-me-out look to everybody else. She slipped down the hall to the 'fresher to wait for Danny. He quickly joined her. He wrapped an arm around her waist and pulled her close to him so no one passing by would notice the fact that he was slipping a large wad of credits out of his sock. "What are you doing here?!" she hissed in his ear. "I'm delivering your payoff. What do you think?" he hissed back. "Well obviously. I mean, don't you know if someone found out what you were doing you'd cause huge scandals for your dad?" she tried to ignore his hand on her bare back, but it was getting increasingly difficult. "Yeah, I know. But I don't care. He'll be off the Senate in a few years anyway. And no one's going to find out what I'm doing, because I'm not going to let anyone ruin your career as a nurse either," he whispered against her hair. She sighed. She was flattered, really, she just couldn't think straight with him so close. What was wrong with her?!

Lavinia eagerly dug into her steak. Halna was right, it was absolutely delicious. After a few bites, she looked up. "Why aren't you eating? Don't tell me you're a vegetarian, because I know you're not." Abiran gave her a look. "You never listen to gossip. I've heard rumors about the Paddie boy. And don't you find it slightly odd that both of them got up at the same time? I think your nurse friend may be involved in some less-than-legal activities." Lavinia rolled her eyes. "Whatever you've heard about him, that doesn't mean she's involved. They could have just been meeting for a quiet romantic lunch and we intruded on their snogging time. You don't always have to believe the worst of people." Abiran looked grim. "It's kept me alive so far, hasn't it? And you, too. That's the point of a bodyguard, to distrust people." Lavinia took another bite of steak. "Whatever. Just don't say anything overtly suspicious when they come back."

Halna bit her lip as he slid the money into her purse. Danny eyed worriedly as he stepped away from her. "Are you all right, Halna?" he raised an eyebrow. She swallowed hard and nodded. "Yeah, I'm fine. Why?" "You just seem a bit... I don't know... distant," he answered. She shook her head. "I'm fine. Just stressed. Go on. Go back to the table. I want to freshen up a bit." She smiled warily, attempting to convince him that she really was fine. He didn't look like he believed her, but nodded. He turned to return to the table. She slipped into the 'fresher and looked at herself in the mirror. Kreth, I look horrible.

Abiran snorted. "Me say something suspicious? What about you, Lady who-says-senators-can't-watch-nuna-ball?" Lavinia rolled her eyes again, taking a sip of her drink. "Say it a little louder, why don't you, so those Bith at the table over there can hear you." Abiran scowled. "I said this was a bad idea in the first place." He checked the watch on his wrist. "Your investigator is late. I'm not sure he's going to show." "We'll wait until we finish lunch. Your steak's getting cold, you had better eat it." Lavinia took another bite.

Danny reached the table and resumed his place. "So how do you know Halna, Ms. Baab?" he asked, striking up a conversation. He hoped it would be interesting. Knowing Halna, it most likely would be. Halna finished reapplying her lipstick and stuck it back in her purse, alongside the payoff. The robbery had gone off without a hitch. She was glad her boys (and girls, for that matter) were so efficient. It meant more money and less trouble for everybody. Sometimes even for the investigators hired to catch the Thieves...

Lavinia took a drink, clearing her mouth. "Oh, call me Fema. She patched up my brother Ailil's collarbone not long ago. The surgery ended so late, I offered her a ride home and she accepted. It's really complete coincidence I ran into her today, though I'm glad I did." She smiled, wondering why Halna was taking so long.

Halna stepped out of the 'fresher. She walked back to the table and sat down. "Sorry I took so long. I didn't miss anything of galactic importance, did I?" She motions for Hermione, one of the waitresses, to come to the table. Hermione clears her plate and she quietly orders one of Dex's fabulous shakes. She feels slightly guilty about her less-than-healthy lunch, but, hey, she had 50,000 credits, (which had been a portion of the jewels taken from the Galactic Museum only that morning. It truly was wonderful to have people in the First Bank of Coruscant who could easily switch these things out for cash), tucked in her purse, she was dining at one of her favorite restaurants, and with a senator, a senator's son, and a senator's bodyguard, no less. Life was good. She deserved a celebration, right?

Lavinia smiled, sipping at her drink. "No, just telling Danny how I met you. I don't suppose you had anything of terrible import happen to you either?"

Halna laughed and shook her head. "No, I was just fixing my lipstick." She winced and bit her tongue too late as she realized how that must have sounded. She was grateful for Hermione returning with her shake.

Lavinia grinned. "Oh, good. It is quite tiresome to have events of galactic import happen to one in the powder room, no?" As the waitress retreated, she looked at Halna's shake. "Oooh, that looks good! But I'm stuffed." She poked Abiran. "Order one so I can have a bite." He looked at her. "I'm not finished with the steak you ordered me. I'm not about to have a shake just because you want to try it. Order your own and we'll get a disposable cup for it." She mock-pouted. "You're no fun."

Halna smiled at Lavinia and Abiran's banter. She silently wondered when Lavinia's private investigator was supposed to get there. "Here, Fema, you can have some of mine," she pushed her shake towards Lavinia. She was getting a brain freeze anyways. Danny nodded toward Abiran. "So, you're a pilot?" he asked.

Lavinia took her own straw from her drink and wiped it down with a napkin before taking a sip of Halna's shake. "Mmm. It's been too long since I've had a decent shake. Thank you!" Abiran nodded. "I am. Served a few years in the Cularin resistance blowing up droids and not dying, and if you survive that, you can fly anything." Lavinia kicked him under the table, and he scowled and rubbed his shin. "Sorry, old war wound," he growled, shooting a quick glare at Lavinia. She smiled innocently and pushed the shake back to Halna. "Thanks again. I think I will have one." She beckoned the blonde waitress and ordered the shake.
