Halna waited for her to finish changing to answer. "Would you like to see what all can fit under that one?" She turned and opened a dresser drawer. Digging through the piles of underthings, she tossed four knives and two blasters behind her onto the bed. "Okay, look. This one fits into a garter around your thigh. This one slips into the heel on a pair of shoes. This one tucks at, uh, the easiest reachable spot, if you get my drift. This one fits perfectly in an evening bag," she held up each item as she spoke. Getting to the blasters she held up the pocket one first. "Most women who attend the opera have one of these in their purses at all times. The guards won't even call you on it. This one though, is my favorite. You can put it wherever the Force you want, and it has this special disguise mechanism on it so that it disguises any weapons you might happen to have on you. Quite the handy little deal. By the way, that dress is lovely on you."

Jhase nodded, "Good. That makes me feel a little better, although I still don't know why I let you talk me into this. Your friend had better have my information, because no matter how nice you think I look, I feel ridiculous." She hitched up the skirt, which swished elegantly against her ankles as she awkwardly crossed the floor to examine the pile of weapons on the bed. "At least it's nice and long, so I can still wear my boots. I'll keep that little holdout blaster in the top of one, since there's no way I'm carrying a handbag."

Halna rolled her eyes. "Fine. Is that the one you want to wear?" she conceded. "And I'm sure Dan-Mr. Paddie will have all the information you need. That is, if it isn't too... confidential?" Her eyes opened wide in faux innocence.

Jhase looked down at herself, considering. "Well... I suppose it's as good as it's going to get," she conceded grudgingly. "Just hope I don't have to get into any fights. I'd probably ruin your skirt, and then I'd feel bad. I hate having to feel bad after a good fight." She rubbed her upper arms, not used to having that much skin showing. "You do have a jacket or something to wear over this, don't you? I don't want to freeze to death."
She realized how petty and almost whiny she sounded as soon as the words were out of her mouth. She really needed to get out in polite company more often... "And Halna? Thanks. I really appreciate the help." She only hoped that she wouldn't have to do anything to Paddie tonight... She was enjoying speaking to Halna again. It was just a bounty... But business had been a little slow lately, and she didn't fancy giving up her freelance status. She decided to simply hope that Paddie would cooperate so she could get her information, and everyone could just go on with life.

Halna laughed lightly. "No problem, Jhase. That's what friends are for, right? And I do have a jacket you can wear, although we're going to be inside," she said with a smile. "I don't know what I should wear. I can't wear blue, since you are. Green, maybe? No, hardly my favorite color. Red? Eh. Hmm..." She got up to dig through the well-stuffed closet. "What do you think? Silver?" She pulled three dresses out and piled them on the bed.

Jhase laughed. "Don't ask me! You're the fashion expert among us. Though that green one is pretty," she added, pointing to one of the gowns on the bed. "But I don't know. I'm just glad you haven't gotten the jewelry box after me yet."

"Oh, honey, I'm just not there yet. But since you brought up, you can grab it and bring it over here. It's under the sink in the bathroom." She smiled sweetly as she picked up the green dress and a black one. Heading into the closet she changed quickly into the green. Returning, she held her arms up to show off the dress. It was floor length with spaghetti straps and a sheery overlayer. "I don't know. This one's better for those boring banquets the Doctor makes me go to," she pulled a face.

Jhase made a face. "Me and my big mouth..." She retrieved the jewelry box, holding the skirt hem in one hand as she tried not to step on it. "I think it looks fine, but like I said, you're the expert." Setting the heavy box on the bed beside the rejected dresses, she opened it. "Good stars, Halna. I could buy half of Merr-Sonn Munitions if I sold off this lot!"

Giggling, she unzipped the dress and stepped back into the closet to try the black one. "It pays to be a thief. Why do you think I always come through with my house payment at the last second? I've gotta find somebody to buy one of thsoe things," she explained. Returning in the black one, she appraised herself in the mirror. "Ah. Perfect." The dress was about knee-length and very soft and loose. It was cut at a 'v' along the bottom, with a small ruffle across the straight neckline. Spaghetti straps tied on the shoulder for an extra edge.
OOC: I have this dress. Isn't it cute???

Jhase raised an eyebrow. "How very clever of you. Rent is one of the last things I need worry about..." She remembered the last time Halna had been on her ship, and smiled. "I seem to recall that you said something very similar about my weapon collection once." She nodded approvingly. "I don't know much about fashion, but you look very nice."
((It sounds adorable! I love asymmetrical hems.))

Halna's smile turned almost wistful, as though her mind was a million lightyears away from their conversation. In fact, she was thinking about Danny. What he'd think of this dress, how'd he'd look so incredibly handsome in a black tuxedo, what information Jhase's client wanted... Worry clouded the giddy feeling she was becoming familiar with. She knew Danny could take care of himself, but he always seemed to land in the deepest of trouble. Suddenly she realized Jhase had been speaking. "What? I'm sorry, I wasn't listening."

Jhase shook her head. "Nothing important. You look nice." She was looking forward to getting this over with... The shorter it took, the better. She almost hated to leave Halna before the opera ended, if she'd gotten her information, of course, but already she missed the comfortable weight of her armor. And from what she'd surmised, Halna wouldn't mind being left alone with Paddie at all...

"Thanks." Halna accepted the compliment lightly and turned to dig through the jewelry box. "Which one do you like?" She held up a sapphire necklace and an Alderaanian crystal set.

Jhase made a face. "Must I? If someone got hold of either one, they could choke me." Knowing that in the end, it was fairly futile to argue, she pointed to the more delicate Alderaanian crystal necklace. "That one. It's smaller, and it'll probably break before I lose consciousness. No earrings, though," she added. "I couldn't wear them anyway." She indicated her unpierced lobes.

Halna rolled her eyes at the suggestion of someone at the opera trying to choke her. "Considering it's probably futile to point out the ridiculousness of that idea, I'll humor you." She handed Jhase the crystal necklace before dropping the sapphire one back in the box. She dug around a moment longer and pulled out a large, velvet covered box. Opening it, she placed the elaborate silver and amethyst choker around her neck. Matching earrings dangled from her ears and she slid a ring onto her finger.
