Jhase shrugged. "Hey, not my fault my usual associates aren't the opera-going type. I like to be prepared." She fumbled with the clasp for a moment before it fastened. The necklace was cool against her skin, and surprisingly light. "You know, apart from the fact that any chakaar with a knife could do me in in about half a second, this really isn't bad." She glanced at her wrist out of habit, looking for her chrono, but of course it was on her wristplate. She frowned, annoyed. "Well, maybe not."

"Here. I do the same thing all the time. Well, of course, I don't wear a wrist plate all the time, but..." Halna handed her a delicate wristchrono with a nerfhide band. She glanced at the time displayed on it. "Oh, gosh! We don't have much time. And I haven't even touched my hair! At least we don't have to worry about yours."

Jhase accepted the chrono with a murmured "Thanks," then snorted. "I hope we don't. I like it how it is." She buckled the nerfhide band tautly around her wrist, but its slight weight only reminded her of the armor that wasn't there. "So, um, how long is your hair going to take? And I don't know what I could do, but is there anything?"

"Oh, it'll only take a second. I was going to curl it, but I'll just put it up," she replied as she made her way into the bathroom. She pulled open a drawer filled with hair supplies. A few dozen bobby pins and ten minutes later, she had an architectural phenomenon on her head. "It's not much, but it'll have to do." Her off-hand comment far down-played her handiwork.

Jhase raised her eyebrows incredulously. "Hope we don't have to go through any metal detectors. You've got enough scrap metal in your hair to build half a speeder. Looks good though." Halna had always been much better at looking pretty than Jhase... Not that Jhase practiced too often. But she could admire her friend's skill. "Well, let's go knock 'em dead!" she said lightly. "And for once in my life I don't mean that literally."

Halna faked a disappointed look. "Oh. Too bad. I always look forward to scrambling opera guards," she joked, "To be perfectly honest, though, I hate the opera. So you're not alone tonight, don't worry." She flung a bolero at Jhase, remembering her earlier request for a jacket of some kind. Throwing a light shawl over her arm and grabbing a purse, she said, "You ready?"
OOC: Do you want to RP Danny, or shall I?

Jhase grinned. "Well, I'm sure if you really wanted a fight, it could be arranged..." She caught the jacket and slipped it on, tucking the various weapons in strategic places on her person. "Boots! Uh, yeah. I'm ready." She pulled on her sturdy black boots, tightening the laces and slipping the tiny holdout blaster in one. Straightening, she ran a longing hand over her helmet before turning away. She never realized how much she depended on her armor until she had to go without it... At least she had her boots. The durasteel toes gave her kick an edge that any recipient wouldn't soon forget.

Halna grimaced at the boots peeking out from under the edge of Jhase's dress. "Well, I suppose it's the best I'm going to get." She tucked a small blaster into her purse and a couple of knives in easy to reach places. "Let's go." OOC:

Jhase raised an eyebrow. "Don't mock the boots. They saved my life one time. And I'd probably fall and break my neck if I tried to wear heels like yours anyway." Slipping one of the blades into her jacket sleeve, she led the way out of the apartment and tried to convince herself that it would be an adventure.
OOC: OHYEAH *facepalm* Sorry! Uh... We can just take it in turns, I guess. Like... I can play him if he's talking to you, and you can play him if he's talking to me, or something like that.

Halna knew Jhase was already beginning to regret agreeing to Danny's meeting place. After all, she wasn't exactly a social butterfly. Halna knew how she felt. She preferred letting a blaster do the talking, herself, but society came into play in her line of work too often for her to be too much of a recluse. Which would explain how she had met a handsome young senator like Danny Paddie. She shook her head to clear it as she followed Jhase from the apartment.
OOC: Perfect! I guess we can head over to the Opera House now.

Jhase stepped out of the building, flagging down an airtaxi. She usually preferred to driver herself, but her speeder was back at the Outlander... Oh well. The slightly battered dull green 'taxi pulled smoothly up alongside her, and she opened the door for Halna, then awkwardly followed her, trying not to step on her long hem as she settled herself in the seat.
"Where to, sweetheart?" the driver inquired, raising a flirtatious eyebrow.
"The medcenter, if you don't keep your mouth shut," Jhase growled. "Otherwise, the Galaxies Opera House."
OOC: OK! Great. Guess so!
