Padme walked into the Senate Building, preparing herself for another physical and emotional trial of listening to those squabbling senators who wanted nothing more than to digrate someone elses thoughts and beliefs.
She sighed and sat down in the senate pod corresponding to the Naboo delegation. Padme sighed and rested her head in her hands, watching as one by one the other senators filled their senate pods. Padme's mind soon started to wander, as the Senators drabbled on and on, and her thoughts started to turn towards Obi-Wan. She wondered what he was doing, and wished that she could have been near him instead of inside this dreadful building.

Padme breathed a prayer of thanks towards the gods that this session was finally over, for now. As she had suspected, it had been nothing but about trivial problems, no one talked about the big issues. Padme sighed, stood up, turned, and walked out of the Senate Building, glad to be going home.

Lavina Wren stalked away from the Senate chamber, inwardly fuming. Palpatine was taking more and more power, and all everyone cared to talk about was Corellian trade sanctions. And the Trade Federation and their allies! She curled her lip. She was, of course, predisposed to dislike them, but even so... So intent was she upon her own thoughts that she did not see the other senator in front of her and ran straight into the younger woman. She staggered, catching hold of the woman's arm to steady herself. "Oh dear, I'm very sorry," Lavina said quickly. "I wasn't watching where I was going at all."

Padme turned around, to see who had run into her, her hand holding onto the other senator's arm to keep herself steady as well. "Oh my, I'm so sorry, I wasn't watching either..I'm sorry." She said again, standing herself upright, smiling apologetically.

Lavinia smiled in answer, warming to the young woman's kind manner. "No, really, it was my fault. You're Senator Amidala, aren't you? I've heard good things about you." She laid her hand on her chest and inclined her head. "Lavinia Wren of Cularin."

Padme smiled warmly, her eyes crinkling around the edges as she did. She made a polite cursty, incling her head as she did, reaching her hand out to shake Lavinia's. "Yes, I am indeed Padme Amidala of the Naboo, it is an honor to meet you, Senator Wren of Cularin. I too, have heard good things of you." Padme was happy to announce, watching the older woman. "Now, all we need to do is forget about this 'running into eachother' business, and all will be well. I shall forgive you, you did nothing wrong at all though, and I hope that you shall forgive me. It appears that we both are clumsy and out of mind as usual after these Senate meetings, don't you agree?" Padme said, a small smile gracing her face, in these dire moments.

Lavinia shook the other woman's hand warmly. "Indeed. This sort of politics is enough to put anyone out of sorts. But do call me Lavinia. I get enough of 'Senator Wren' back there." She raised an eyebrow, smiling wryly, and continued, "Now if you will allow me to accompany you to the front steps, we can make sure that neither of us bump into any other poor souls." Lavinia felt a lift in her frustrated mood, finding that her new acquaintance was of much the same mind as she.

Padme smiled, turning to walk to the front steps. "Fair enough, Lavinia. Please, do call me Padme, I hate to have such stiff formalities between us. It is a wonderful idea to have you accompany me, these poor souls do deserve a break from us clumsy and distraught Senators, eh?" Padme said, raising an eyebrow, smiling coyly.

Lavinia laughed. "How very true. Those whose minds are unencumbered by the lofty demands of democracy should not be troubled by those of us whose minds are! But let's not talk about politics. I've had enough of that for one day." She carefully sidestepped a tiny cleaner droid. "How about... Naboo? I've seen so many beautiful holovids of it, but I've never been. I'd love to, it seems so different from Cularin."

"You've never been to Naboo? Well, I must say, it is so much more beautiful than those holovids you've seen. Nothing could compare to actually standing on a hill on Naboo, the breeze blowing, the birds chirping, the smell of nature all around, oh..and don't forget the many waterfalls." Padme was so wrapped in her storytelling of her homeplanet that she almost had run into a droid, but luckily she moved out of the way just in time. "Now, where was I..ah, yes, it would be my pleasure to have you escorted to Naboo, whenever you have free time. I hope that both of us shall at least have enough time to do such. Now, please tell me of Cularin, I'd love to hear what you have to say." Padme said, invitingly.

"Well, it's very different from Naboo and Coruscant. It's mostly jungle, and and much warmer than here. It's very humid, too. Your hairstyle wouldn't last five minutes, I'm afraid," Lavinia grinned. "There's the most amazing trees, hundreds and hundreds of meters tall, and big enough to fit a house. The buildings almost blend into the trees now. The Trade Federation occupation built horrible great duracrete prefabs to house their government, but we tore them down and replanted the trees and last time I was back there, the trees were thriving. In a few decades, you won't b able to tell where they were at all." Her smile had faded, replaced by a stern look. "You know all about the cursed Trade Federation, though, don't you?" Lavinia shook her head, smiling again. "But politics again! My apologies. If I accompany you to Naboo sometime, then you must be my guest on Cularin too."

"Ahh, I wouldn't worry about my hairstyle for a split second, I'd leave it down, if it wouldn't seem indecent. Truth be told, it's my handmaiden that is always so worried and fussing about my hairstyle." Padme said, laughing softly. She continued, "Anyway, back to Cularin. It is wonderful that your planet is back to normal, after the d**ned Trade Federation was there. I would indeed love to see these trees. Which reminds me of a time when I was little.." Padme laughs as the memory brightened her mind. "Anyway, no need for talk about little children games. I hope that we can go to Cularin soon, or Naboo. We have been through so much, our planets and we, and yet, you can see how life thrives. It longs to thrive, it must. It is quite beautiful, really. The thought of life..." Padme trails off, as she is lost in thoughts, a small smile on her face.

Lavinia smiled. "Indeed. Even after the biggest forest fire, the trees still return. Which reminds me, don't we have a few weeks off after the next session? I would be honored if you would be my guest at the Seedling Festival then." ((OOC: Sorry it took me so long! I was at my grandparents' house and they don't have Internet But happy New Year!))

Bana walked into the entrance of the Senate building, and spotted Seantor Amidala speaking with another Senator Bana wasn't familiar with. She'd seen her a few times, but did not know her name or which planet she represented.
Curious, she walked over and waited for a break in the conversation before breaking in...

Padme smiles with barely concealed joy. "Oh, I would be honored to be your guest at the Seedling Festival. It brings warmth to my heart to see how fast we are becoming more than just quantances." Padme stops talking and smiles once again as she looks towards Senator Breemu. "Senator Breemu, it is a pleasure to see you once again." Padme said, inclining her head in welcome, gesturing towards Lavinia. "Senator Breemu, I would like to introduce to you Senator Wren of Cularin."
