Lavinia's eyes twinkled. "One might almost believe that someone did it on purpose, except, of course, no one in the Senate would be that childish and impolite."

Ann's smile was postively fiendish. "Oh yes, I'm quite sure I didn't page my pilot before he called... That would have been downright rude!" She pretended to be shocked that such a thing was even possible.

Lavinia grinned archly. "Oh, of course. And of course Senator Relli, if she is anything, is always scupulously polite. In fact, she could have sworn she put the alert on silent rather than interrupt such a distinguished guest's speech." Lavinia tried hard to keep a straight face, but she finally collapsed into giggles again. "Ann, darling, that was priceless!"

"Why, thank you, dear! You're such a doll!" Ann said in an over-pronounced accent. She dissolved into girlish giggles and flopped backwards onto the chaise lounge she was currently sitting on, in a very un-ladylike manner.

"Oh, you're more than welcome, really," gasped Lavinia, shaking with mirth. "Anything for a friend, you know!" She grinned. Ann could always cheer her up, no matter what. "So what time tonight is the dinner?"

Ann caught her breath from her giggle spell long enough to shrug. "Oh, I don't know, really. I'm bringing the champagne, like I always do, so why don't you just come with me? I'll probably go about 5. Or do you think that'll be too early? I hate to arrive first to a party. It's so very dull, don't you think?!" Ann chattered on, happy to have a party to talk about.

Lavinia nodded. "That's probably about right. I'll meet you then. And if we are terribly early, at least we have each other to talk to." She grinned. "Of course, with your champagne, we won't need anyone else!"

Ann laughed merrily. She was famous for her Bespin champagne. "Remember when the ambassador from Alderaan tasted it? Oh my. I've never seen anyone drink so many glasses of champagne and not even seem to notice it!" The ambassador had been completely looped, but had carried on a logical debate on a subject she usually tended to leave to others...

Lavinia giggled. "Indeed! I've never seen anyone ingest so much and still be able to stand up straight, much less speak so eloquently. She must have an amazingly high tolerance level. But you've heard about those Alderaanian wines..." She grinned. "Not that I haven't been known to indulge in a few glasses of Ruge from time to time."

Ann shook her head. "Oh, me too. Those Alderaanians sure know how to age their wine. I've never had a bottle of Ruge that was under 15 years old!" She finished her drink and began to suck on an ice cube.
OOC: I just realized something... We forgot about Abiran! lol.

Lavinia nodded. "Indeed! I don't know much about wine, but the ones from Alderaan are markedly better than most. Just like Bespin champagne is the best," she added, grinning slyly. "I guess living on a gas giant is good for something."
OOC: LOL! Oops... He probably just gave up and quietly slipped out a few pages ago.

Ann smiled, a bit sarcastically. "Yes, it is good for some things. Alcohol, gambling, let's see what else?" She chuckled and shook her head, absent-mindedly stirring her drink with the straw. The maid slipped in quietly and offered to refill it for her. She smiled gratefully and handed the glass to the young woman.

Lavinia shook her head, smiling. "Oh, Ann, you're such a cynic sometimes! Beautiful and unique architecture, for one, and very good friends." She caught Loretta's eye and handed the woman her glass also. Loretta slipped quietly back into the cabin.

Ann nodded in compliance. "Yes, we do have some wonderful buildings. However, while I am flattered by your compliment, assuming it was to be one, I think you jump to conclusions. Think of all the galaxy's worst betrayals. They all involve Bespinites, don't they?"

Lavinia smiled ruefully. "Yes, I suppose they do. Well, not all. There was that nasty little matter with the mixed-up security holos several years ago, and I'm relatively sure that no Bespinites were in on that... But it doesn't matter. I'm sorry I ever brought it up. Let's talk about something pleasant now."
