Lavinia grinned, playing along. "Oh, I think I know the one... Tall, dark, long black hair?" She took another sip of her drink and brushed at her hair as a breeze from across the water tried to disarrange it. "It is a lovely day, isn't it though? We shall have to plan this next time, and go to one of the islands."

Ann clasped her hands together. "Oh lets! That would be a blast! We could stay out there overnight and make a little trip out of it. I haven't gotten away for more than a day in ages. It's so difficult to escape when you're in politics, don't you agree? Everyone's always hounding you about Separtists, or 'do you think it'll come to war?' Ugh." She sighs in disgust.

Lavinia nodded eagerly. "Oh, yes. We can forget all about politics for a night. We'll even have a campfire, and Abiran can tell us ghost stories!" She grinned teasingly over at where Abiran was overseeing the yacht's tying up at the dock. He rolled his eyes and waved a dismissive hand.

Ann clapped like a little kid at the candy store. "Oh yes! We can roast marshmellows too! I used to love that when I was a kid. I had to get it just perfectly brown, and if it caught on fire I'd give it to my dad." She laughed happily.

"Well, you can give them to me this time. I love the burnt ones!" Lavinia laughed. "It's been too long since I've roasted a marshmellow."

Ann laughed. "And it's been too long since I heard a good ghost story..." she turned her head towards Abiran, looking at him pointedly, though with a smile.

He gave a short bark of a laugh, smiling wryly back. "I'll be sure and polish my repertoire before then, just for you, Senator." Lavina glanced at her chrono, smiling. "Force!" she exclaimed suddenly. "Look how late! Time does fly, doesn't it?"

Ann laugh rang out merrily at Abiran's entirely enthused look. Her grimaced as she glanced at her wristchrono. "Ugh. It sure does. I guess I'd better get going. You won't forget about the party, huh?" she asked as she stood, carefully setting her glass on the small table beside her chair and smoothing her skirt down.

"Of course not," Lavinia grinned. "How could I? I'll see you at five, then," she continued, setting down her own glass and standing to embrace her friend.

Ann outstreched her arms to meet Lavinia's embrace. "It was good to see you! When do you want to get together for our little camp out? Or should we not make plans and just see how things go? I know at least my schedule changes with the wind's whims."

Lavinia hugged her warmly, then waved a careless hand. "Wonderful to see you again, too! Let's set a date and try to plan our schedules around it, but my plans are every bit as changeable as yours."

Ann nodded and reached into her pocket for her day planner. She touched a few buttons before replying, "I'm free two weekends from now. How about you?"

Lavinia closed her eyes for a moment, thinking. "I think so," she said slowly, opening them again. "Loretta keeps track of my official schedule, but I don't think I have anything planned."

Ann turned off her planner and slipped it back in her pocket. "Great! I guess I'll see you then. Oh no, what am I saying?! I'll see you at the party tonight!" She slapped her forehead with the palm of her hand. "Sometimes, I wonder if I'm getting old..."

Lavinia giggled. "Oh yes, positively senile," she teased. "You'd better touch up your dye job this afternoon. Can't have anyone at the party seeing your gray hair!"
